Police investigating a “serious” one vehicle crash in south Derry

THE PSNI are describing a one vehicle collision in south Derry as “serious.”

A large blue articulated livestock lorry crashed on Mayogall Road in Magherafelt on Thursday morning around 6.30 am.

The accident happened between Clady and Gulladuff.

One male has been seriously injured.

As a result, the road is closed in both directions and diversions are in place.

A PSNI spokesperson said that the road is expected to remain closed for some time.

The PSNI are appealing to motorists to avoid the area.
