John Hewitt is hosting 5th beer and cider festival in July

THE award winning John Hewitt Bar will be holding its fifth Great Northern Irish Beer & Cider Festival.

The festival runs from Monday, July 1 to Sunday, July 7, 2013 and has been growing from strength to strength.

It is unique in celebrating and promoting the wonderful artisan handcrafted beers and ciders exclusively sourced and brewed here in the North of Ireland.

Beers and ales hail from the oldest micro-brewery, Hilden, to one of the newest, McGrath’s Premium Irish Ales, and the largest, the White Water Brewing Company. And the very best local ciders using 100% Armagh apples are each brewed with a passion for uncompromising quality and taste. As with previous festivals, this year’s event will also provide the launch pad for a new ale…

Running alongside the great local beers, ales and ciders will be the best of local talent with live music each night. On 1 July, ‘Monday Mic at The Hewitt’ is a chance for you to perform live on the same stage thatMumford & Sons, Seasick Steve and Gareth Dunlop have played, to name a few.

The rest of the week will feature bands playing Blues, Jazz and Traditional Irish Music before ending with a fantastic Bluegrass session on Sunday night. Admission to all the live music events is free. A New Art Exhibition from local artist William Patton will also be launched at the start of the festival and run until the end of the month.
