Police appeal for witnesses after child knocked down in south Belfast

A three-year-old boy is being treated in hospital after he was struck by a car in Belfast city centre.

The incident happened at Cromac Street in the Markets area of south Belfast at around 6pm.

The child has been taken to the Royal Hospital for treatment to injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

The road has reopened to traffic after being closed for a period.

Anyone who witnessed the accident to contact police at Musgrave Street on 0845 600 8000.
