Police recover gun in Ballymena security alert

POLICE have seized a gun during a security alert in Ballymena, County Antrim.

The weapon was found Crebilly Road in the Ballykeel estate, close to its junction with Kennelbridge Road.

Army technical officers were called to the area on Friday night to carry out an examination of the scene.

The alert has ended and police have appealed to anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
