Army bomb experts defuse pipe bomb in west Belfast

ARMY bomb experts have defused a viable pipe bomb in west Belfast.

Technical officers based at Palace Barracks in Holywood, Co Down were tasked to the scene in Twinbrook on Tuesday afternoon.

The alert was sparked after a suspicious object was found in Jasmine End.

Police said ATO said the device was a lethal pipe bomb which was taken away for forensic examination.

Anyone with informaton about those behind the device is asked to contact police.
