Soprano singer Barbara Bonney pulls out of Queen’s Festival due to illness

ONE of the stars of the Ulster Bank 50th Queen’s Festival has had to pull down the curtain on her show.

Soprano singer Barbara Bonney was due to perform next Friday, November 2 at the Waterfront Hall.

Her show, which was to feature a night of music with the Ulster Orchestra conducted by Fergus Shiel, is in association with NI Opera and will include the winner of NI Opera’s Festival of Voice.

Barbara was due to perform Mozart arias, songs by Strauss, Haydn’s Berenice che fai and a duet with the competition winner.

However, festival organisers have just announced that Barbara’s concert has been cancelled, as she is unable to attend due to illness.
