TWO MEN ARRESTED OVER HOUSE BREAK-IN AND THEFT

POLICE in Ballymena have arrested two men following the report of an incident at a house at Galgorm Road on Thursday 7th November.

The report was received by police at around 5.15am that two men were attempting to force entry to a house.

Entry was not gained, however, and the men made off.

Two men, aged 27 and 34, matching descriptions given to police were located by officers a short distance away and upon searching the two detained men, suspected stolen property from another house in the area was recovered.

The men were then arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including aggravated burglary with intent to steal, criminal damage, going equipped for theft and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Both men remain in custody at this time assisting officers with their enquiries.
