ANTI-TERROR COPS ARREST THREE DISSIDENT SUSPECTS OVER ARSON ATTACKS

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Terrorism Investigation Unit have arrested three men in connection with a number of arson attacks in the west Belfast area.

The arson attacks were carried out at two properties in the Lagmore area of west Belfast in the early hours of the 14th and 16th July, when cars parked at the properties were set alight and destroyed.

It is believed the attacks were carried out by a dissident republican group in the area.

The men, aged 24, 26 and 44 were arrested in Belfast today and are currently in custody assisting officers with their enquiries.

The investigation into these incidents and other violent dissident republican activity in the area is continuing.

Detectives would ask anyone with information which could assist them with their enquiries to contact them at Castlereagh PSNI Station on 101.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime
