PSNI IN FRESH APPEAL OVER FATAL CAR CRASH VICTIM CHRISTOPHER CASEMENT

Christopher ‘Cricky’ Casement died in fatal one vehicle road accident

POLICE have this afternoon issued a fresh appeal for information over a fatal one vehicle road traffic collision.

The accident, involving a blue Mazda 3 car, happened on the Old Ballynahinch Road, Lisburn.

The man who died was Christopher ‘Cricky Casement.

The 23-year-old, from Downpatrick, had been reported missing by his family after he failed to turn up for work on Tuesday.

Sergeant Jonny MacKenzie said: “The collision was reported to police at around 12:20 pm on Wednesday 4th September.

“However, following further enquiries, we believe the incident may have occurred just before 7 am on Tuesday 3rd September.

 “We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the Old Ballynahinch Road area between 6:45am and 7am on Tuesday 3rd September and who may have seen this blue Mazda 3 car or anyone who has dash-cam footage which could assist us with our enquiries to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 734 04/09/19.”
