TWO MEN CHARGED OVER £240,000 CANNABIS HAUL SEIZURE

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch have charged two men aged 42 and 44 years old to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning over a £240,000 cannabis haul seizure.

The men have both been charged with drugs offences, including conspiracy to supply Class B controlled drug; possession of a Class B controlled drug and possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply.

The 42-year-old has also been charged with entering UK lawfully but remain without leave beyond the limit, and with possession of a false identity document without reasonable excuse.

The 44-year-old man has also been charged with possession of a false identity document without reasonable excuse.

As is normal procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

The charges follow searches in north and south Belfast yesterday, Monday, June 24,  where suspected Class B drugs were seized with an estimated street value of £240,000.
