POLICE GRANTED MORE TIME TO QUIZ MAN OVER PADRAIG FOX MURDER

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’sMajor Investigations Team have been granted an additional 12 hours to question a 21 year old man following the murder of Padraig Fox.

The 29-year-old was found dead at a flat in Burrendale Park Road,. Newcastle, Co Down, on Saturday, December 8.

Another man, aged 26 years old remains in police custody assisting with enquiries.

On Tuesday, detectives were granted a further 36 hours to question him at Musgrave PSNI station in Belfast.

Detectives from the PSNI’s Major Investigations Team have appealed for information about the murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Boyce, who is leading the investigation said: “We continue to appeal to anyone with any information to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 712 8/12/18.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
