TWO ARRESTED OVER MURDER OF PADRAIG FOX FOUND DEAD IN FLAT

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigations Team have named the man found murdered in a flat at the weekend.

The body of Padraig Fox, 29, was found in the Burrendale Park Road area of Newcastle on Saturday, December 8.

A murder inquiry was launched following a post mortem examination on Sunday, December 9.

A 21 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder as part of the investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Boyce, who is leading the investigation said: “The man has been taken to Musgrave Police Station and is currently assisting with police enquiries.

 “A 26 year old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody at this time.”

Police have been granted a further 36 hours to question the 26-year-old.

Added DCI Boyce: “We continue to appeal to anyone with any information to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 712 8/12/18.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
