MAN ARRESTED AFTER HOUSES ATTACKED IN NORTH BELFAST

POLICE in North Belfast have arrested a man as part of an ongoing investigation into a number of recent incidents at Ballysillan Avenue.

Chief Inspector Kelly Moore said: “Officers carried out a search at a house in Ballysillan Avenue this morning and arrested a 26 year old man.

“He has been arrested on suspicion of intimidation and criminal damage and is currently in custody assisting us with our enquiries.

“Local officers and Criminal Investigation Branch detectives have been carrying out an extensive investigation into the recent incidents in this area.

“I would like to reassure the local community that we will do all in our power to ensure that anyone involved will be brought before the courts.

“No-one should feel unsafe in their own home or be subjected to acts of intimidation.

“I would ask anyone with any information which could assist us with our investigation to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
