FUN IN FERMANAGH GUARANTEED WITH LAUNCH OF EXCITING NEW ACTIVITIES

FERMANAGH Lakeland Tourism is encouraging visitors to experience a range of events and activities that are taking place in the Lakeland county over the next few months, ensuring that they can end their summer break on a high.

The county has unveiled some exciting new events that are perfect for families to enjoy over the coming weeks as they soak up the sunny weather.

The recently opened Enniskillen Blueway Water Activity Zone is the perfect location to try out canoeing, kayaking or stand up paddle boarding and offers a fun experience for family days out or for visitors who want to explore Enniskillen.

Also newly opened, is the enchanting Fairy Trail at Lusty Beg Island which is sure to amaze little ones as this magical adventure allows them to get up close to lots of fairy action, including reading fairy books and seeing where they live! Tours must be pre-booked, adults are £2 and children £3.

The good weather is a great reason to literally immerse yourself in Lough Erne and Lough MacNean.  Come and try the newly launched Waterpark at Share Discovery Village outside Lisnaskea which is open daily throughout the summer and is available for both members of the public and groups.

This exciting experience offers a range of water inflatables to try and is sure to provide hours of fun for kids. At the other side of the county, for fans of Total Wipeout, the Corralea Activity Centre offers orienteering, wall climbing and archery as well as a waterpark on picturesque Lough MacNean.

There are also lots of exciting upcoming events taking place in Co. Fermanagh including the Happy Days International Beckett Festival which takes place from August 1 – 5 which will include a wide range of engaging talks and discussions in locations across Fermanagh, Omagh and Cavan.

The 2018 Beckett Reader in Residence at the festival is stage and screen actor Colin Salmon, while Enniskillen natives Line of Duty star Adrian Dunbar and actor and author Ciaran McMenamin will offer readings of some of Beckett’s short prose works at St Michael’s Crypt from August 3 – 5.

The much anticipated Shoreline Music Festival takes place from August 3 – 5 and will feature well-known acts such as Tinchy Stryder, Scouting for Girls, Sean Kingston, Nathan Carter Lisa McHugh and more. Be sure to buy your ticket so that you and your friends can enjoy some toe tapping fun!

If you are a music enthusiast, then be sure not to miss the Music By The Lake event at Crom Estate on August 11.  Attendees can enjoy a rocking evening of ‘folkabilly’ tunes from local group the Hand Me Downs whilst they relax in the beautiful setting on the shores of Lough Erne. Everyone can enjoy a complimentary glass of wine on arrival.

The Festival Lough Erne will take place from September 22 – 23 at Enniskillen Castle. Perfect for foodies and families, the event will celebrate the very best of local food. Visitors can enjoy a weekend of activity on and off the water with cookery demonstrations by celebrity chefs, local artisan food and drink producers as well as live entertainment.
