A NUMBER of homes have been evacuated in north Belfast following the discovery of a suspicious object.

Inspector James Ellson said: “Police are currently at the scene of a security alert following the discovery of a suspicious object on a footpath in Glandore Avenue, Belfast. 

“A number of houses have been evacuated and cordons have been put in place.

“There are no further details at this stage.”
