FOUR MEN ARRESTED OVER HISTORICAL SEX ABUSE PROBE

OFFICERS from the PSNI’s Public Protection Branch have today (Monday, 16 April) arrested four males as part of a long running investigation into child sex abuse in the south Down area.

Three males, aged 70, 55 and 54 in the Newtownards, Lisburn and Newcastle areas.

A fourth, aged 52, was arrested in Downpatrick.

The arrests are his is in relation to an investigation into allegations of serious historical sexual child abuse in the Co. Down area. 

All four have been taken to Antrim Police Station to assist police with their enquiries.
