POLICE HUNT SCREWDRIVER WIELDING THUG WHO ROBBED POSTIE OF MAIL

POLICE are appealing for information after a postman was attacked and robbed of mail in the Cranbrook Court area of North Belfast yesterday (Saturday, 10 March). 

Sergeant Hagan Said “It was reported that shortly after 10:00 am the postman was standing at the back of his van on Cranbrook Court and was then attacked from behind by an unknown male with a small screwdriver.

“He was struck to the back and the arm but was thankfully not injured as a result of this.

“The attacker then made off towards Farringdon with some of the contents from the van.

“I am asking that anyone with information contact 101 quoting reference 404 10/03/18. .

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
