MAN’S SWISS WATCH TAKEN AT KNIFEPOINT BY ROBBER IN WEST BELFAST

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in the west Belfast area, in the early hours of Sunday, February 18.

Inspector McCullough said: “A man in his 20s reported to us that an expensive Swiss watch had been taken from him by a man, at knifepoint, at around 3am in the Springfield Road area of the city.

“Police responded and based on a description of two suspects, carried out a search of the area – but nothing was found.

“We would be keen to speak to two men, both believed to be in their 20s and Middle Eastern in appearance, who were in the area at the time and may have information that could help with our investigation.

“One is described as very slim build, 5’8”, wearing a navy top with what is believed to be the word ‘Hollister’ down the arm, dark trousers and a Hermes belt with a large ‘H’ on the buckle, with facial stubble with his hair shaved at the sides and longer on top.

“He is reported to have run off, carrying a knife, towards the Cavendish Street area.

“The other man is described as being 5’7” in height, of muscular build, wearing black trousers, grey tee-shirt and with dark hair.

“We would like to hear from anyone who saw this incident taking place or who knows anything about it.

“Please contact us on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 231 of 18/2/18.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous but gives the people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
