THREE men have been charged over an incident involving award-winning BBC NI journalist Kevin Magee as he investigated the behaviour of self-styled ‘paedophile hunters’.

The men, aged 28, 32 and 34, are due in court accused of offences including assault, attempted intimidation, false imprisonment and disorderly behaviour.

The charges relate to an incident on Belfast’s Botanic Avenue on Tuesday, February 6 and other offences on dates between this month and September last year.

They are to face Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning for a first remand hearing.

He is being questioned on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and false imprisonment during an incident in Belfast on 23 November 2017.
