‘THE Untouchables’ are jubilant after taking a gun off the streets of Northern Ireland.

Officers from the PSNI’s Paramilitary Crime Task Force raided a house at Mark Street in Newtownards yesterday and seized the weapon along with a quantity of ammunition.

As a result, a 27 year old man has been charged with iof a firearm and ammunition in suspicious circumstances.

He is due to appear at Newtownards Magistrates’ Court on Friday, February 2.

As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the PPS.
