TEEN MALE TO FACE COURT AFTER FAKE GUN USED IN ARMED HOLD UPS

DETECTIVES have charged a 19 year old male with two counts of handling stolen goods, attempted theft and carrying an imitation firearm in a public place.

He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court this morning, Saturday, December 9

It is understood the charged are in relation to a number of thefts of commercial premises in the Newtownards Road area of East Belfast on the 3rd and 8th of December.

An imitation firearm was also recovered by Police.

An 18 year old male arrested by police during follow-up enquiries has been interviewed and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
