MEAT-CLEAVER WIELDING GANG HUNTED AFTER TWO MEN ATTACKED

DETECTIVES are appealing for information following an assault close to the Bellevue Bridge on the Antrim Road, Newtownabbey.

The terrifying incident happened in the early hours of yesterday morning Sunday, November 19. 

Sergeant Emma Wallace said “ It was reported that at 2:15am four men armed with weapons including a meat cleaver assaulted two men aged 22 & 19 before then stealing money from them.

“One of the men attacked required stiches to a hand injury and the other received staples to their head as a result of the altercation.

“One male has since been arrested but released on bail in connection with this incident.
