POLICE PROBE TYRE SLASHING INCIDENTS IN EAST BELFAST

POLICE are investigating a spate of attacks on cars in the Short Strand area of east Belfast overnight.

Sergeant Anne McCourt said: “We’ve received reports that at least one tyre on around twelve vehicles was slashed in the Perry Court, Madrid Street, and Clandeboye Drive and Gardens areas.

“At this time there is no suggestion that the incidents are hate crimes and we are working to establish a motive.

Anyone with information or who noticed anyone interfering with vehicles in the Short Strand last night can contact police at Strandtown on 101.”

Information about crime can also be given anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
