The jazz venue has ditched the traditional cakes and scones to create its new ‘Savoury Afternoon Tea’ which will feature an array of seasonal treats such as tomato gazpacho, Croque Madame muffin, beetroot and goats’ cheese macaron, Scotch quail egg and mini pork en croute. The jazz venue has ditched the traditional cakes and scones to create its new ‘Savoury Afternoon Tea’ which will feature an array of seasonal treats such as tomato gazpacho, Croque Madame muffin, beetroot and goats’ cheese macaron, Scotch quail egg and mini pork en croute.

The tea will also be served with gourmet sandwiches, scrumptious petit fours, and a glass of prosecco or a selection of tea or coffee.

Afternoon Tea at The Merchant Hotel has become an iconic treat in the city and the new menu has been created by Berts long-standing Head Chef Michael Webber and will provide guests with an alternative choice to the hotel’s ever-popular Afternoon Tea.

Berts Jazz Bar manager Andrew Carson is looking forward to offering guests a new and novel approach to Afternoon Tea in the city.

“We are always looking for ways to improve our customer experience and offer guests something new.

“This afternoon tea is perfect for those who prefer savoury items over sweet and we’ve worked in conjunction with the hotel’s chefs to create a special menu that is bursting with flavour.
