DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team probing the murder of Edward Gibson in west Belfast by the ‘Supersticks’ have made a fresh arrest.

Gibson was shot dead in October 2014 by members of the ‘Official Republican Movement’ (ORM) or more commonly called the ‘Supersticks’.

Today, detectives have arrested a 27-year-old woman on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and withholding information.

She was arrested in the west Belfast area this morning.

Following her arrest, she was taken to the serious crime suite at Musgrave PSNI station in Belfast city centre for questioning.

Eddie Gibson died after being shot in an incident on 24 October, 2014, in the Clonfadden Crescent area of west Belfast.

The ‘Supersticks’ had accused him of raping a local woman but this was denied.
