PSNI helicopter helping to search missing person in River Lagan

A FULL scale emergency incident is underway this evening in Belfast.

Police, fire crews and paramedics are at the scene of the ongoing incident on Donegall Quay in Belfast City Centre.

It is understood one person, believed to have been a male, was rescued from the icy waters.

Sources at the scene say rescue teams were looking for a second man.

The drama unfolded just after 5 pm.

The police helicopter with its infra-red camera has been hovering over the scene to see if can trace the missing person.
