TEEN TO FACE COURT OVER WEST BELFAST STABBING

Laganside Court houseDETECTIVES have charge a teenage over the almost fatal stabbing of a man in west Belfast at the weekend.

The 51-year-old is still fighting for his life in Royal Victoria Hospital.

He was attacked at a house in Vere Foster Walk off the Springfield Road at around 4 am on Saturday morning.

The man was stabbed in the abdomen.

He made his way on foot to Springfield close before emergency services were alerted.

The 19-year-old suspect has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon with intent and with grievous bodily harm with intent.

He will is to face Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning for a first remand hearing.

As part of the police investigation, detectives continue to question a 19-year-old man and a 26-year-old man at the PACE custody suite at Musgrave PSNI station.
