MAN CHARGED WITH BURGLARY AND DRUG OFFENCES

Laganside Court houseDETECTIVES have charged a 27-year-old aggravated burglary and possessing drugs.

The PSNI say he is due to face Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning for a first remand hearing.

The charges are believed to be in connection with an aggravated burglary in the Trillick Street area of East Belfast on the evening of January 19.

At the time, police said that at around 9 pm that night, a man in his 30s returned to his house in Trillick Street to find an unknown male ransacking the property.

The man held a knife to his throat and threatened him before making off on foot.
