DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RING STOLEN IN SOUTH BELFAST BURGLARY

Burglars aboutDETECTIVES are appealing for information following a burglary at a house in south Belfast.

The break-in happened in Glencregagh Drive sometime between 3.00pm and 3.30pm on Wednesday, 27 January.

A number of items of jewellery were stolen, including a diamond cluster engagement ring with a gold band and a gold signet ring with the initials ‘TOH’ engraved on it.

A man was observed running along Glencregagh Drive in the direction of Beechgrove Avenue close to the time of the incident.

He was wearing a thigh length dark coat with the hood up, in his mid-20’s and carrying a small rucksack on his back.

Detective Constable Fiona Crichton would ask anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area to contact Detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime at Lisburn on the non-emergency number 101.

They are also keen to speak to the man described above, as he may have information with would help police with their enquiries.

Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
