DETECTIVES are investigating after a 48-year-old man was assaulted with a gun during a a vicious burglary last night.
He needed treatment for minor hand injuries following the aggravated burglary in Cullybackey, Co Antrim.
Police say five masked men entered a house on the Craigs Road just after 10 pm.
One of the men was reported to have been armed with a handgun, while another was armed with a hammer.
The robber with the gun then struck the victim on the head, demanding money.
The group then ransacked the property, before making off empty-handed.
The PSNI have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact them on the non-emergency number of 101.
