DETECTIVES have charged a man with raping a teenage girl in north Belfast.

The attack took place near Woodvale Park during the early hours of Saturday, 31 October.

The accused, who is 26, is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court for a first remand hearing.

He was arrested yesterday by detectives from the PSNI’s Rape Crime Unt.

It is believed the attack happened between 12:30 am and 3.30 am.

At the time, Detective Sergeant Mike Davis said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area between these times and may have seen a girl with long blonde hair, wearing a white short-sleeved dress and black shoes in the company of a male who was wearing a dark waist length jacket, dark boot cut jeans and a dark baseball cap.”
