POLICE are investigating after a man was shot in the leg in north Belfast tonight.

The victim was attacked just after 8 pm at Carlisle Parade in the New Lodge district.

The injured man, who is in his late 20s, was treated at the scene by paramedics.

He was later transferred by ambulance to the Mater Hospital on the Crumlin Road for treatment.
