HOTLINE TO THE STARS: Banbridge businessman Brian Adair is embarking on what he hopes will be an Epic adventure after setting up a new company Experience Epic Ltd to help clients source celebrities and well known personalities from the worlds of sport, TV, entertainment and music.

A Northern Ireland businessman is embarking on what he hopes will be an Epic adventure after setting up a new company to help clients source celebrities and well known personalities.

Experience Epic Ltd is the brainchild of Banbridge entrepreneur Brian Adair who believes that there is a gap in the Northern Ireland market for a dedicated provider of celebrities from the worlds of sport, TV, entertainment and music.

As well as facilitating guests to attend and speak at a wide range of events from weddings and birthdays to business seminars and award ceremonies, the company also plans to host its own events locally, kicking off with  ‘An Epic Evening with Liverpool FC legend John Barnes’ on December 16 at the Ramada Hotel, Shaw’s Bridge, Belfast.

I think that Northern Ireland really is missing a ‘go to’ source for elite VIP speakers and guests to appear at a range of functions and events,” said Brian.

Our key selling point is that the vast majority of our celebrities and personalities are based outside Northern Ireland.  Our contacts within the TV, music and sports industries are extensive and ever growing but our ultimate goal is that if a client wants to source any personality for any event – all they have to do is contact Experience Epic and we will do the rest.

“In the business world, one of the most common questions that comes up in meetings amongst event organisers and their PR and marketing representatives is ‘does anyone know how we can contact X or Y’.  Whether it be for a photo shoot, conference, launch or awards dinner, we want to make the task of sourcing the right personalities easier for local companies.

“And from a purely personal point of view, if you want someone famous to turn up at your wedding or birthday party, maybe even a song from the likes of Blue or Peter Andre, then you can contact us and make your event a truly Epic one to remember.

“No celebrity is too big or too small in our eyes – if you want them, we will contact them and get back to you with availability and costs,” he added.

Brian Adair is also the founder and managing director of Source Products Ltd, a successful Craigavon-based company that specialises in the provision of high quality hygiene and cleaning materials and personal protective equipment (PPE).

So how did he make the jump from sourcing products to sourcing high profile personalities?

“I personally feel that here in Northern Ireland, we are very detached from GB-based personalities and celebrities and I believe there is a huge market for what we’re trying to do,” explained Brian.

“I have always had a passion to organise events and my love for sport has enabled me to do this albeit not in a business senseFor example, I would organise for groups of friends to experience playing football at premier league stadiums, being treated like a star player all the way, travelling in the team coach, playing on the hallowed turf, wearing the full new playing kit and managed by a celebrity manager.  So the next step was for me to extend this passion into the business world.

“Through spending a lot of time in England and networking at different events over many years, I’ve built up a lot of contacts in the fields of sport, TV and music,” he added.

I’ve always found it extremely interesting engaging with personalities and that led me to looking at a business concept to bring well known stars over to allow Northern Ireland audiences to get up close and personal with the celebrities and hear snippets of their life stories.

Event-ful

The first such event is ‘An Epic Evening with Liverpool FC Legend John Barnes’ at the Ramada Hotel in Belfast onDecember 16.

Compered by Peter McDowell from Liverpool FC TV and also featuring popular comedian and football impressionist Darren Farley, the event will be the first of many intimate evenings that Brian is hoping to set up with screen stars and sporting personalities.

“I’m delighted to kick off our Epic nights out with John Barnes, a true legend of Liverpool football club,” continued Brian.

Football fans will listen to John discuss his life, laughs and career with Liverpool FC TV presenter Peter McDowell.  Then the second half of the show will feature one of the UK’s most promising young comedians Darren Farley who is making a really big name for himself through his football impressions which originally went viral on YouTube.  And for extra time, we will be having a live auction for some Liverpool football club memorabilia.

“A number of Premium tickets will also be made available whereby fans will have a unique opportunity to meet and chat with our special guests before the show actually starts,” added Brian.

Plans are already in the pipeline for similar evenings with cast members from the ever popular Coronation Street and the team from the popular Sky Sports ‘Soccer Saturday’ show.
