DETECTIVES are on the trail of of masked men who broken into an elderly woman’s home last night.

Police say that an elderly victim has been left badly shaken after four masked men stormed her home in the Orangefield area.

The men entered and searched the bedroom of the home just after 9 pm after gaining access by removing glass from a kitchen window.

The pensioner was not physically hurt but was left badly shaken as a result of her ordeal.

It’s believed nothing was taken during the burglary.

Detectives Sergeant Conor Sweeney said: “I appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area to contact detectives at the Reactive and Organised Crime Branch in Mugrave police station on the 101 number.

“Or alternatively information can be given to Crimestoppers anonymously on the freephone number 0800 555 111.”
