PSNI detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch have seized suspected cocaine with an estimated value of £150,000.

The seizure was made during a proactive search at a house in the Ballynahinch Road area of Lisburn this morning, September 16 2015 which also involved officers from Lisburn and Castlereagh City’s District Support Team.

A suspected firearm was also seized and a 31 years old man has been arrested.

PSNI District Commander for Lisburn and Castlereagh City, Superintendent Sean Wright said: “This successful operation which was carried out by specialist detectives and our own officers in the district is an excellent example of how we use all resources available to tackle criminality.

“The issue of illegal drugs is a priority for PSNI in this district.

“I believe my colleagues in Reactive and Organised Crime Branch and uniformed officers are making a significant impact on the illegal drugs trade.”
