THUGS KNIFE AND ROB MAN ON MOBILITY SCOOTER

musgrave psniDETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses following a street robbery in the Peters Hill area of North Belfast this afternoon.

It was reported that at around 2.45 pm a man , aged in his 50’s, was on his mobility scooter at the bottom of Peters Hill close to North Street when he was approached by two unknown males who asked for a cigarette.

One of the males then produced a stanley knife and demanded money.

The man refused and the male slashed him on the arm with the knife.

The man then handed over a sum of cash before the man slashed him again on the arm.

Both males made off on foot in the direction of the Lower Falls.

They are described as being aged in their early 20’s, one was wearing a black baseball cap and the other a red coloured zip top.

He had black hair and a moustache.

The man was treated in hospital for injuries to his arm that are not believed to be life threatening.

Detective Inspector Mary White is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that will assist the investigation to contact detectives in Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
