MAN CHARGED OVER DOUBLE STAB MURDER BID

Craigavon Magistrates CourtDETECTIVE have charged a man with the attempted murder of two women at a house in west Belfast.

The charges relate to a stabbing incident yesterday morning.

The victims, one in her 30s and one in her 50s, were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital after being attacked in the early hours of Monday at Cloona Manor in the west of the city.

Paramedics responded to a 999 call around 9 am.

The victims injuries are not said to be life threatening.

Police said a 35-year-old man with two counts of attempted murder and with aggravated burglary.

The suspect is to face Craigavon Magistrates’ Court later this morning for a first remand hearing.

All charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

A woman aged 28 also arrested for aggravated burglary remains in custody at Musgrave PSNI station.
