HOODED MAN STEALS WOMAN’S HANDBAG CONTAINING HER INSULIN PEN

Police scenePOLICE in south Belfast are hunting a hooded man who snatched a woman’s handbag containing her insulin pen and needles.

The handbag snatch took place her car in Great Georges Street at around 6.50 am this morning, Saturday, August 1.

Inspector Eugene King said: “A woman driver had stopped her silver coloured Ford C-Max car at traffic lights when the passenger door was opened by a male wearing a brown hooded top.

“The woman’s handbag was snatched from the car and the man then made off in the direction of Yorkgate with a number of other males who were waiting nearby. ”

Inspector King added “The light brown canvas bag taken from the car contained a number of items including a small sum of cash and cards.

“It also contained four needles and a blue coloured cartridge insulin pen with the word APIDRA on it.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or who has information or anyone discovering the medical items which may have been discarded in the area to contact officers at Musgrave on 101. “
