TEEN GIRL CHARGED OVER RIOTING IN NORTH BELFAST

Sandy Row riotDETECTIVES have charged a 16-year-old girl with riotous behaviour after trouble erupted in North Belfast last night.

The girl is due to appear at Belfast Youth Court on Monday, August 10 for a first appearance.

Two police officers were injured after petrol bombs and masonry were thrown by youths in the Woodvale Road area in the early hours of Wednesday, July 15.

Police said four or five petrol bombs were hurled at them from around 12.50am but “none made contact”.

However, masonry was also thrown and two police officers were injured by bottles at approximately 1.30am.
