POLICE PROBE ARMED ROBBERY OF WEST BELFAST CREDIT UNION

Woodbourne PSNI stationDETECTIVES are investigating the report of an armed robbery at a credit union on the Springfield Road yesterday evening, Thursday 2nd July.

It was reported that two masked men, one armed with a firearm, approached a female staff member just after 5 pmand demanded money. One of the men was wearing a cream hooded top and the other a black hooded top.

They made off with a sum of money in a red Mitsubishi Carisma driven by a third man.

Detective Sergeant Natalie McNally said, “Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would ask for anyone who noticed the red coloured Mitsubishi car or any suspicious activity in the area between just before 5 pm or anyone with any information to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101.

“Information can also be passed anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
