AFTERNOON TREAT… Michael Sullivan, Deputy General Manager of The Merchant Hotel, joins Ward Sister Caitlin McCoy to deliver a special treat of Afternoon Tea to patients and staff at the MacDermott Chemotherapy Unit in the Ulster Hospital as part of the hotel’s charity partnership. 

The yearlong partnership with the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust and the MacDermott Chemotherapy Unit will see the five-star hotel host a number of fundraising opportunities for the chemotherapy unit throughout the year to raise funds which will go towards improving the patients and carers experience while in the unit.

The most recent fundraising initiative for the partnership was the hotel’s Fabulous Fashion Teas which raised over £2,000.

The MacDermott Chemotherapy Unit first opened in 1999 and provides the vital facilities needed for those that require chemotherapy treatment and supportive therapies.
