DETECTIVES have charged a 49-year-old man after seizing£180,000 worth of cocaine in east Belfast

The PSNI say officers from its Reactive and Organised Crime Branch stopped a car on the Sydenham by-pass on Wednesday night during an intelligence-led operation.

The suspect was arrested under the 1971 Misuse of Drugs Act.

He was taken to the custody suite in Musgrave PSNI station for questioning.

Police say the man has now been charged with possession of Class A cocaine with intent to supply.

He is to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning.
