TWO CAR WASH FIRMS HIT IN ARSON ATTACKS

Police car collectDETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses following arson attacks overnight in Co Antrim.

The attacks happened in Ballyclare and Carrickfergus last night, Sunday 24 May on two car wash businesses.

Shortly after 11.30pm last night it was reported that a car wash business on Marine Highway in Carrickfergus had been set on fire. Damage was caused to a toilet area as a result of the incident.

At approximately 8.45am this morning it was reported that sometime overnight a car wash business on Main Street in Ballyclare had been set on fire. Extensive damage was caused to the premises as a result.

Detective Sergeant John Caddell said: “Police are investigating to identify if there are any formal links between these incidents and are appealing to anyone with any information that may assist the investigation to contact Neighbourhood Officers in Ballyclare and Carrickfergus on the non-emergency number 101.

“Information can also be passed anonymously via the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
