EAST BELFAST MAN ARRESTED OVER VICE RACKET PROBE

musgrave psniDETECTIVES from the PSNI’s ‘Vice Squad’ have arrested a 60-year-old man in east Belfast as part of an investigation into prostitution.

The PSNI say the man had been held on suspicion of several offences.

They included “controlling prostitution for gain, brothel keeping and causing or inciting prostitution for gain”.

The man was arrested on Monday afternoon following a covert investigation.

Police said he was assisting them with their enquiries.

The man is currently in custody at Musgrave PSNI Station in Belfast city centre.

He can be held for up to 24 hours under PACE regulations before police either charge or release him.

Detectives can also apply to a judge for an extension to his custody to conduct further inquiries, including mobile phone and bank records.
