MAN IN GREEN BALACLAVA HUNTED OVER EAST BELFAST SHOP ROBBERY

PSNIDetectives are appealing for information following a robbery of commercial premises in the Woodstock Road area of East Belfast this morning, Sunday 24 May.

At approximately 7.50 am Police received a report that a young male, who was in possession of a knife, entered the premises and demanded that a female member of staff hand over money and cigarettes.

He then made off on foot city bound.

The male is described as wearing a green balaclava, hooded top, dark tracksuit bottoms and brown shoes.

No one was injured during this incident, however the member of staff was left very badly shaken.

Detective Inspector Michelle Griffen said: “I would appeal to anyone who has any information about this incident to contact Detectives in Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
