POLICE are advising motorists that the Crumlin Road in north Belfast has been closed in both directions between the Woodvale Road and Cambrai Street.

This is to allow the PSNI to carry out further searches following the report of a suspicious object.

Superintendent Paula Hilman said: “I apologise for the disruption this operation will cause to people in the area.

“But we must take every precaution to keep people safe following the report of a suspicious object having been left in the area.”
