SECOND FIRE PUT OUT AT TOP SECURITY JAIL IN A WEEK

Maghaberry Prison 2A fire has been extinguished at the top security Maghaberry jail.

The fire service received an emergency 999 call to attend the Co Antrim prison on Sunday afternoon.

Four appliances attended the prison compound after a report that a fire had been started fire in a store room.

The Prison Service no one was injured and no inmates were evacuated during the emergency.

It’s the second fire at the prison in the space of a week.

On Friday, crews put out a blaze on the integrated wing of Roe House, forcing inmates to be evacuated.
