FAST FOOD DELIVERY MAN HIJACKED AT GUNPOINT IN EAST BELFAST

Police sceneA takeaway delivery driver was hijacked in east Belfast by two men claiming to have a gun.

The victim, who is in his 20s, was making a delivery in Aaran Street at 11.20 pm on Monday night when he was approached by two men.

One of the men claimed he was carrying a gun and threatened the delivery man.

His accomplice then jumped into the car and drove it a short distance along the road before getting out.

The men then fled on foot.

Police say the victim was not injured but left shaken by his ordeal.

One of the suspects is described as being in his 20’s, approximately 5’8” tall, of thin build and dirty fair hair.

He was wearing a green top and brown trousers.

The second is described as being approximately 5’6” tall and was wearing a grey coloured hooded top.

Detective Inspector Michelle Griffin is appealing is appealing for anyone with information to contact CID at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
