POLICE have launched an investigation after a man was struck by a car tonight in north Belfast.

The incident happened around 10 pm on the New Lodge Road.

The man has been rushed to hospital where his condition is described as “serious”.

PSNI Inspector Paul Noble said: “He has been taken to hospital with injuries that at this time are described as serious.

“We would appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact police on 101.”

The New Lodge Road has been closed as police carry out an investigation.
