ELDERLY WOMAN CHEATS INJURY IN NEW YEAR’S EVE PETROL BOMB ATTACK ON HER HOME

Police scene armed copDETECTIVES are investigating after a woman in her 70s escaped injury after two petrol bombs were thrown at her bungalow.

The PSNI say officers received a report that the petrol bombs had been thrown at the property around 10 pm on Wednesday evening.

The elderly woman was in the house in Leckagh Walk, Magherafelt, when it happened.

The window and door of the bungalow sustained scorch damage.

The woman was not hurt, but was left shaken.

Detectives in south Derry have appealed for anyone with information about the attack to contact them on the 101 non-emergency number.
